Standard Atlas, Leyland 15 and 20
The Standard Atlas was launched in 1958 using the Standard Ten 948cc engine under the floor in the 'forward control' format then popular in commercial vehicles of this time. A more powerful 1670cc engine was given to the Atlas Major in 1961, and in 1963 this was renamed the Standard 15. A longer Atlas van with 2138cc engine or a diesel engine was sold as the Standard 20 from 1963. Later in 1963, the new owners of Standard-Triumph rebranded the vans as Leyland 15 and 20. From 1968 the Atlas range was dropped by Leyland since it competed with Austin-Morris vans and production continued in India with the 'Standard' brand returned.
