Talbot London Ten, Sunbeam Talbot Ten
In 1935 the Sunbea-Talbot-Darracq motor group collapsed and were purchased by the Rootes Group. One of the first products was the 1936 Talbot Ten which was based on the chassis and mechanics of the Hillman Minx. Sometimes known as the 'Talbot London' because of its grille badge, the Talbot Ten was available as a stylish 4-door saloon by British & Light Steel Pressings and an open tourer by Thrupp & Maberly. The 1185cc sidevalve four from the Hillman Minx gave about 40bhp. In 1938 the Talbot Ten was rebranded as the Sunbeam-Talbot Ten, and was relaunched in 1946 as the Sunbeam-Talbot 80.
