Talbot 90, 95
Introduced in 1930 the Talbot 90 had a 2,276cc ohv inline six cylinder engine developed by Georges Roesch. In fact this engine had first been fitted to a newer version of the Talbot 14/45 and tuned to give 76bhp for the 1928 Talbot 75. Team Fox and Nicholls commissioned a tuned version of the 75 for the 1930 Brooklands Double Twelve race, and Roesch modified the cylinder head to give a higher compression ratio and an output raised to 93bhp for the Talbot 90. Works Talbot 90s finished 3rd and 4th at the 1930 24 Heures du Mans. The Talbot 90 engine went on to be developed into a 2,969cc unit for the Talbot 105. Production of the Talbot 90 ended in 1933 after 216 produced, the Talbot 95 took over from 1932 to 1935 powered by a detuned version of the 2,969cc engine.
