Vauxhall PC Cresta and Viscount Launched in 1965 the PC Cresta was available in 3 versions, the PCE Executive was called 'Viscount'. Styled like the Chevrolet Impala The PC series had the 'coke bottle' waistline which was also given to the FD Victor and the HB Viva. The 1966 Holden HR, and Opel Rekord (from which the Opel was derived) shared a similar styling and the Opel had been created in Detroit around the time that Chevrolets were being given 'coke bottle' waists. The engineering of the Cresta PC was similar to the outgoing model, and the 3294cc inline six did not change. Vauxhall did not apply the name 'Velox' to this model, and did not apply the name 'Cresta' to another model when this one was retired in 1972. |
