Vauxhall E-series Wyvern 1951-56
Replacing the L-series, the E-series gained a new body with American influenced styling launched in 1951 for the 1952 model year. Under David Jones The E-series body drew inspiration from the 1949 Chevrolet. The EIP series was launched as the 1442cc Wyvern and the 2275cc Velox, but a new 4-cylinder 1507cc engine was given to the Wyvern in 1952. For 1955 new grilles are given to the big Vauxhalls, but the biggest change came in 1956 when body revisions included new larger front and rear screens and thinner pillars and grilles again were altered. Model codes changed to EIX for Wyvern. For the final year, 1957, new horizontal grilles were given to all models and larger tail lights with red and amber lenses. This was the final year for the 'Wyvern' name as this car was replaced by the new FA body Victor in 1958.

Vauxhall EIX Wyvern 1954. On Launch in 1951 the EIX Wyvern retained the 1442cc 4-cylinder engine from the LIX Wyvern. But in 1952 it was given a new 1507cc 4-cylinder engine of 40bhp or 48bhp

Vauxhall Wyvern EIX 1956. Larger front screen and thinner pillars for the 1956 revamp. The Wyvern was given a painted grille surround rather than chrome of the Velox and Cresta. 1956 models had thicker grille bars than 1955.
