Volkswagen Type 14 - boot badge. Dr Karmann commissioned Ghia of Turin to design the Type 14 and Volkswagen sanctioned the building of the car at Karmann's Osnabruck works.

Volkswagen Type 14 Convertible 1968. By 1968, the Type 14 was enlarged to 1500. Bodily, the front grilles were enlarged in 1961, and the headlamps had been raised. But this 1968 car still has the small 'torpedo' front indicators (changed in 1970)

Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupe. Luigi Segre of Ghia in Turin was commissioned by Karmann to design the Type 14, although it seems likely the design had already been draft towards a Chrysler project.

The car continued in series production from 1955 to 1974 undergoing, in typical VW fashion, many year by year improvements.
