Zastava's arrangement with Fiat enabled them to produce ('Fico') in Kragujevac from 1956. The Zastava 600B was identical to the Fiat 600, and was powered by a 4-cylinder 633cc engine. In 1962 Zastava introduced the 750 model with the larger 767cc engine from the Fiat 600D, and this was an important car for Yugoslavia; it was produced until 1985. However, the 'suicide' doors remained on the 750 until 1968, even after they had been changed on Fiats from 1964. The Fiat 126 donated its more powerful 767cc 30 bhp engine in 1975. An 848cc version was produced as the Zastava 850 from 1980 until production ended in 1985. Nearly 1-million Ficos were produced.
