Zastava was given a unique design to produce in 1971 as the 101 (or 'Skala'). It looked like a Fiat 128, but with a hatchback body in 3-door or 5-door forms. In fact this was a design given by Dante Giacosa to his friend a Zastava and not produced anywhere else. Power was given by a 1,116cc 4-cylinder engine from the Fiat 128. In 1981 Zastava started production of a 3-box 4-door model akin to the Fiat 128 and named 'Zastava 128' and 'Skala 55'. The hatchback model was then revised and marketed as the 311 or 511 with the 1,116cc engine and 3 or 5 doors, or the 313/513 with the 1,301cc unit. Production ended in 2008.
